Since 14 May 2019 the Philippines has been a party to the Hague Apostille Convention. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of Consular Affairs is the competent authority that issues the apostille, a certificate that authenticates a Philippine public document so that it can be used in other Convention countries without further embassy legalization.
Getting an apostille often means an online appointment, the right supporting certifications and a queue at DFA. We take care of the process for you: we check that your document is eligible, obtain the prerequisite certifications (for example a CAV for school records or a Certificate of Authority for a Notarial Act for notarized documents), file the document with DFA, and return it to you or send it straight abroad.

Frequently asked questions
Which countries accept a Philippine apostille?
Countries that are party to the Apostille Convention and have not objected to the Philippines' accession. That includes the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, Saudi Arabia and most of Europe. Germany still maintains its objection, so documents for Germany follow a different route. See our country pages or ask us to confirm.
What if my destination country does not use apostilles?
For countries outside the Convention, such as the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait, the document is authenticated by DFA and then legalized by that country's embassy or consulate. We handle both steps. See our Embassy Legalization service.
Can you apostille a document without my personal appearance?
In most cases yes. We act as your authorized representative with a simple authorization letter and a copy of your ID. Some supporting steps may have their own requirements, which we explain in your quote.
Does an apostille translate my document?
No. The apostille only confirms the signature and seal on the document. If the receiving country needs the content in its language, a certified translation is also required, and we can prepare it.
