This country has joined the Apostille Convention but it is not yet in force; legalization applies until then.
Thailand has acceded to the Apostille Convention with effect from 28 February 2027. Until then, documents require DFA authentication and legalization by the Royal Thai Embassy.
Steps for Thailand
- Obtain the original or official copy (for example from PSA, the school or the court)
- Complete any prerequisite step (CAV, RTC certification of the notary)
- DFA authentication (Certificate of Authentication)
- Legalization or verification by the embassy or consulate of Thailand
- Certified translation into the required language, if needed
- Courier to you or directly to Thailand
